Gordon K. Uyehara

Gordon was born and raised in Hawaii. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has participated in juried exhibitions in the USA and abroad. Although his work is primarily wearable art of silver clay and Sterling, he also produces drawings.

Artist's Statement

We are all creators. The artist directs creative energy toward a manifestation that can be appreciated with the senses. I find inspiration from many sources but what I find fascinating is the unexpected. This is especially true of the artists that I admire. They elevate their work with a freshness that is not normally experienced. I often notice this quality in great musicians. It is with this spirit (whether successful or not) I create with purposeful intent.
