Daven Hee

Go to Pictures Daven was born and raised on Oahu. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from the University of Hawaii and his MAVA in Ceramics from The Australian National University in Australia. He has participated in numerous solo, group, and juried exhibitions both in Hawaii as well as abroad. Hee has work in the collections of the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Hawaii State Foundation of Culture and the Arts and in numerous private collections both here and abroad.



Artist's Statement

Being a potter always makes it difficult when working on a themed exhibition. I’ve always done these types of exhibitions with a literal translation of the theme. For this show, “thirst” for me means bowls, cups, or teapots. But I like the idea that thirst could also be interpreted as a “thirst” for knowledge, strength, skill, family, and friends.
